Hello Kitty Hello Bama!

I found this shirt in a little shop down in Cullman a few weeks ago and Mags had to have it! She loves Hello Kitty and we love Bama. We ask her now what an elephant says and she will say "roll tide". Her daddy is so proud! We have waited so long to hear her say that!!! And it is just in time for football season!

Dancing Princess....... Or monster!

Maggie had her first dance class last night. I think she had a good time. Yesterday morning we pulled into work and she started crying. " I dance I dance!" She remembered that we told her she was going to dance that day. She LOVES her tap shoes!!!She would wear them all the time if I would let her. She came out of dance showing me how she taps her foot.
There was about 6 two year olds in the class so there was a little crying. Maggie even had her turn at crying but as soon as the tap shoes came out they ALL stopped crying!!!
Monster.......Well, when we got home we went up to talk to Granby, Maw maw and Uncle Greg. While we were there talking about dance and Maggie being a "pretty little dancer" she started crawling around on all fours like a monster. Greg looked at me and said "I don't think you are going to have a little dancer". LOL I know she is rough and tough. And I have always wanted a girly girl but I will be happy with what ever she wants to do. I would love to watch her play soccer or softball. Maybe she can have the best of both worlds! But for now I am going to push the girly things.

Gabe and the Devil

Gabe got put in timeout the other afternoon. While he was sitting there I talked to him about what he did to get put in timeout. In the end I just told him that he was just being mean.
This is how our conversation went after that.
Me: "Who does not like for you to be mean?"
Gabe: (He just pointed up to the sky.)
Me: "That's right! And who wants you to be mean?"
Gabe: "The Devil!"
Me: "That's right!"
Gabe: "That was just the Devil working on me!"

His understanding of God, Jesus, Heaven, Hell and the Devil just amazes me sometimes!

Talking Girl!

Maggie has been slow to talk! At one Gabe was almost talking in sentences! Maggie at one had not said a word! So back during Christmas we had her evaluated and she just hit the mark required for therapy. They told us we could wait a little while or we could go on and put her in and see what happens. Nothing really happened the first five months but In June we put her in a new school and I think that has made all the difference in the world. (I'm not saying our old school was bad but she was in a class with all younger kids so she was not made to speak.) But at the new school she is in with other 2 year old and she has just taken off! To the point that I looked at Jake the other day and asked if she was ever going to stop talking? Ha! But I love it! She does not pronounce everything right but she is getting soooooo much better. She goes for a hearing test in a month just to make sure she is hearing what she should be. But I think she is fine just a little strong willed and shy! (I am trying not to say that in front of her like I have in the past. A lady at church teaching our parenting class had a great point the other day. She said if you tell a kid she is shy then they will grow up thinking it is true and that is the way they are to act. Now I know it is natural for some people. I am one of those people but if I start now with her giving her the courage to not be shy then maybe one day it will pay off for her.) Anyways, where was I? I love to hear her and watch her talk. She is so expressive when she talks. She uses her hands and face to show how funny or serious something is. I would make a list of what she can say now but she can say anything she wants or anything you ask her to say. (If she likes you.)
My favorite right now is "Hold me hand bubba, hold me hand!" (just think of a little Irish man and that is what she sounds like right now.)
